Why Climate Woman?
I belong to the half of the human population of Earth, whose levelheaded point of view and brilliant thinking are rarely asked for and almost never used.
Because I grew up in the “female culture,” with one foot in the “mainstream male culture,” things outside the mainstream are important to me.
For one, I’m able to take the Climate Emergency seriously. As a woman, I think about it in ways that the mainstream culture is barely looking at. I am a body that wants to be alive, living in a world of gazillions of other bodies that want to be alive. There is nothing more precious than being alive!
What would the world be like if women were safe? Would there be a climate emergency? If we lived so that women were safe — from rape, domestic violence, prostitution, and war — could that put an end to the climate problem?
With this website I speak up for myself as a woman. My wish is that people of all oppressed and exploited groups will speak up, too. We need everyone’s voice. All of our thinking, together, is a big enough force to stop the climate emergency.
