Unity or Divisiveness?

A key strategy of the profit-based economy is to use divisiveness — to keeping us feeling alone and “different” from one another, so that it’s hard to join in close friendships with other “kinds” of people. Close friendships are the foundation of a solid movement that can carry on until we are successful.

One of the most powerful first things you can do, to stop the Climate Emergency in its tracks, is to make friends with someone who’s “different” from you. Take a step, make mistakes, apologize — but don’t give up!

Another is to deepen the friendships you already have with people “like yourself.”

We cannot afford to let ourselves be divided. Success will come as we teach ourselves to act in community — locally, nationally, and worldwide.
